How to Connect Your ARMY Bomb (Ver. 4) to Your Phone and Concert Mode
On this page
For the remaining ARIRANG shows in Latin America, you won't need your phone on show night: HYBE's Lima and Santiago notices say a Ver. 4 is wirelessly controlled automatically once it's switched on, with no seat pairing in the app. Connecting at home is still worth it for firmware updates.
Before you start
- An ARMY Bomb Ver. 4. Ver. 3 and the Special Edition use a different app and no longer sync at ARIRANG shows (see below).
- Three new AAA alkaline batteries. Firmware updates won't start on low batteries.
- The BTS Official Light Stick Ver.4 app by HYBE Co., Ltd: App Store (iOS 15 or later) or Google Play. When asked, allow Bluetooth, Location, Photos and Storage; the app lists all four as required.
- Time at home. HYBE warns that crowds at the venue can slow down or break firmware updates and pairing.
How to connect your ARMY Bomb to your phone (Bluetooth)
These steps follow the manual on the Weverse Shop listing, the app's store description and HYBE's firmware notice.
- Insert three new AAA alkaline batteries, checking the + and - marks.
- Make sure the light stick is off.
- Press and hold button 1 and button 2 at the same time for 2 seconds. The stick enters Bluetooth Mode and blinks blue.
- Turn on Bluetooth in your phone's settings.
- Open the BTS Official Light Stick Ver.4 app and tap the menu button at the top right to connect the light stick.
- If a Light Stick Update pop-up appears, tap OK, then Update to install the latest firmware.
How to use Concert Mode
- With the stick connected, select Concert Mode on the app's home screen.
- Find your concert. The app shows upcoming shows and whether pairing is required.
- If pairing is required: register the concert information in Concert Mode, then pair the stick by following the on-screen steps. (For Busan, HYBE said the stick had to be "paired to your seat," so have your ticket's seat details ready.) Do this before you leave for the venue.
- If pairing is not required: nothing else to do. Turn the stick on before the concert starts and it will light up automatically.
- At the show, keep fresh spares handy. HYBE says the stick stays paired and keeps following the show even if you swap batteries mid-concert.
Two Ver. 4 features help here, per HYBE's launch notice: a correctly paired stick lights up together with the sticks around it before the show, and in some parts of a concert wireless control can take over even if pairing isn't complete. The app also keeps a History list of concerts you've paired for.
Seat pairing requirements vary by concert, so the manual tells you to check each event's guidelines.
ARIRANG tour: which shows need pairing?
| Leg | Seat pairing in the app? | Per HYBE's Weverse notice |
|---|---|---|
| Busan (June 12-13, 2026) | Yes | Latest firmware plus seat pairing, by self-pairing in the app or at on-site booths |
| Europe (e.g., Paris, July 17-18) | No | Ver. 4 is controlled automatically once it's on |
| Latin America (Lima, Santiago) | No | Ver. 4 is controlled automatically once it's on |
| La Plata and São Paulo (Oct. 21-31) | Check notice | Lima and Santiago notices point to one leg-wide "Latin America" light stick guide; we found no La Plata or São Paulo notice yet |
| Asia (Kaohsiung to Jakarta, Nov.-Dec.) | Not announced | No light stick notice found as of Oct. 13, 2026 |
For every city, HYBE's notices say Ver. 3 and SE "do not support wireless control." Dates for each stop are on our ARIRANG tour dates page.
How to connect your ARMY Bomb to Weverse (you don't)
The light stick never pairs with the Weverse app. The Ver. 4 manual sends you to the App Store or Google Play for "BTS Official Light Stick Ver.4." Weverse is still essential, because that's where HYBE posts each city's light stick guide, pairing windows and battery reminders.
How to connect ARMY Bomb Ver. 3 (and SE)
Ver. 3 and the Map of the Soul Special Edition use the older BTS OFFICIAL LIGHT STICK app, which supports both. Per that app's store description and US BTS ARMY's walkthrough:
- Move the switch on the light stick down to Bluetooth mode.
- Turn on your phone's Bluetooth (some phones also need location/GPS on) and hold the phone close to the stick.
- For a show, choose Concert Mode, enter your seat information exactly as on your ticket, select ARMY BOMB SE or VER.3, connect, and confirm when the stick's color matches the screen.
- Move the switch up to concert mode.
Troubleshooting
It won't connect
- Check you're in the right app: BTS Official Light Stick Ver.4, not Weverse and not the older BTS OFFICIAL LIGHT STICK app.
- Start with the stick off, then hold both buttons. No blue blinking means it isn't in Bluetooth Mode yet.
- Make sure Bluetooth and Location permissions are allowed for the app.
- On iPhone after an update, restart the phone.
- Put in new batteries; an update won't run on low power.
It's blinking or showing odd colors
- Blinking blue: Bluetooth Mode, waiting to connect. That's normal.
- Fading, or flashing different colors and then turning off: old batteries, per HYBE. Replace all three.
- Colors look wrong after a drop: HYBE's care notes say impacts can change the light color.
It didn't sync at the concert
- A Ver. 3 or SE won't sync at any ARIRANG show from June 12, 2026 on.
- Turn the Ver. 4 on before the show starts and keep it on.
- Low batteries make the light fade and can stop wireless control, according to the Latin America notices.
- If your show required seat pairing, make sure you finished it in Concert Mode.
How to connect your ARMY Bomb to music
There's no official music-sync feature for the Ver. 4. The manual, the app listing and HYBE's launch notice cover only button color and pattern changes, Color Shaking, Bluetooth/Self Mode, Concert Mode and firmware updates. Treat third-party apps that claim to sync an ARMY Bomb to music as unofficial.

Frequently asked questions
How do I connect my ARMY Bomb to Weverse?
You don't. The Ver. 4 connects to the separate BTS Official Light Stick Ver.4 app from HYBE, not the Weverse app. Weverse is where HYBE posts each city's light stick notice.
How do I connect my ARMY Bomb to Bluetooth?
With the stick turned off, press and hold buttons 1 and 2 together for about 2 seconds until it blinks blue. Turn on Bluetooth on your phone, then connect from inside the BTS Official Light Stick Ver.4 app.
How do I connect my ARMY Bomb to the concert in 2026?
Open Concert Mode in the app and read your city's Weverse notice. For the ARIRANG shows in Europe and Latin America, HYBE said no seat pairing was needed: a Ver. 4 with fresh batteries syncs automatically once it is switched on.
How do I connect ARMY Bomb Ver. 3?
Ver. 3 uses the older BTS OFFICIAL LIGHT STICK app: move the switch down for Bluetooth mode and connect in the app. Since June 12, 2026, though, Ver. 3 and the Special Edition no longer sync with the ARIRANG tour light show.
Can I connect my ARMY Bomb to music?
Not officially. No music-sync mode appears in the Ver. 4 manual, the app listing or HYBE's Ver. 4 notice. You can change colors and patterns with the buttons, use Color Shaking, or save colors in Self Mode.
Why is my ARMY Bomb blinking?
Blinking blue means it is in Bluetooth mode and ready to connect. If it fades, or flashes different colors and then turns off, HYBE says the batteries are low; put in three new AAA alkaline batteries.
